Debt Relief Order

A debt relief order is one way to deal with your debts if you do not own your own home, do not have much spare income, and your debts are £20,000 or less. Some types of debt don’t count towards this limit, so check whether you are eligible before you decide.

Individual Voluntary Agreement

An Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) is a legally binding arrangement between you and your creditors. You can apply for an IVA if you owe more than £15,000 with a minimum monthly repayment in the region of £200.

Bankruptcy is a way of eradicating all your debts that you cannot possibly repay. Declaring yourself bankrupt works by using some of your remaining assets, if you have any, to pay off your outstanding creditor debts.
